truth.
I relax my hair, that concludes to me hating myself.
I get extensions/ braids/ weaves etc, that concludes to me hating myself.
I go natural, bam I love myself but as soon as I braid my hair or put a weave in to give my hair a break, I’m back to hating myself? and trying to be European in some way.
Really, some of you natural hair ladies need to calm down. Just because someone decides to not have their natural hair out on the daily and manipulating it all the time does not conclude to them not liking themselves. There are people who, (omg, you wouldn’t believe this) don’t have the time each and every morning to do something to their hair. Sometimes people want a change and switch things up by getting a sew-in here and there. Shit, if they feel like getting a buzz cut by all means let them do it. It’s their right. You know what I don’t understand, why are some of you so bothered by what other people put on their heads? It’s just hair whether it be relaxed, natural, texturized or whatever, it’s just hair. The only thing that matters when it comes to hair is its health and it can be healthy if one takes care of it regardless of if it’s relaxed or natural. Save the whole slave mentality argument for someone who gives a fuck because that’s not the issue for some. If that is your only argument as to why someone does anything else to their hair aside from letting it be in its natural state, then you don’t have an argument to begin with. It has nothing to do with wanting to look European, it’s what they like. You like to deal with your natural texture every day; someone else likes to deal with a straight texture every day. It all comes down to the person’s preference. Some of you out there force your opinions on people and crucify them if they do anything that’s not to your liking when it comes to hair. It is just hair and it’s being taken way too seriously. Focus your attention on more important things. The foolishness has got to stop. You’re not above anyone who relaxes their hair and relaxed ladies, you’re not above anyone who is natural.
